Eligecos

Greetings!

My name is Gabriel, aka Eligecos. (elly-geckos) I am a freelance character designer, illustrator and 3D character modeler, specializing in appealing and stylized cartoon critters. From here you can view my portfolio, commission prices and terms of service.

Terms of Service

My services require that you agree to the following terms below.
(updated 3/23/2024)

General

I will NOT draw NSFW or sexually suggestive content. This even includes "tasteful" nudity that involves any genetalia. I will NOT draw any festive, holiday, nationalistic or religious-themed artwork. I will NOT draw any subject matter that is intended to incite political controversy, social issues or other distressing matters.

Payment

I accept payments through PayPal invoice, Square invoice, Venmo, and Ko-fi.Commissions that are more complex may incur additional fees starting at $30 or more. Commissions that are $200 or less must be paid all at once without installments. Commissions that are over $200 can be paid in installments overtime.Commissions that are paid off in full when a queue is opened may be placed on a higher priority in the queue. The quicker you pay it off, the more likely you will be first on the queue. You may chose to hold off on your payment until you first receive a concept sketch. This may place you on the back of the queue, but full payment will only be required after you approve the concept sketch before any finalization work can begin. However, rough sketch commissions or sketches done over live stream must be paid upfront first.

Process & Corrections

Commission request forms are primarily ordered through Google Forms. I will announce when request forms are open via my social channels such as Telegram, Discord, Bluesky and FurAffinity.Request forms are not selected first-come, first-serve. Request forms are chosen at my own discretion. I will reach out to you when you are selected. After which I will add you to my Trello queue where you can keep track of my overall progress and track your place on the queue. If you were selected but you need to change or update your commission idea, please reach out to me promptly. Changes can be made up-to when I start on your concept sketch. You are entitled to a concept sketch. During this stage you may request corrections due to artist error or if you change your mind on the concept. First correction is free, but additional corrections during this phase are $10 each. After you approve your concept sketch, additional corrections that are made during or after finalization will start at $20 or more.Commissions are completed on my own time and when I am able, as I do work a full-time job that limits my time for commissions. I maintain a very high rate of completion and take pride in the satisfaction of my clients. I am not known for speed, but I do aim to finish the work in my own timely manner. As such, it is not feasible for me to take commissions that require a hard deadline.

Rights

As an artist, I retain full rights to all my works. Works are defined as the artwork I produce and not the characters, subject matter or intellectual properties involved. My rights to the works involves the rights to use, publish, print and modify my artwork at my discretion, as well as the right to sell digital and physical versions of my artwork, as well as for use in public displays, websites, portfolios, fair use, etc.The client has the right to use the work for personal and non-commercial purposes without my written permission. Additional rights for commercial for-profit use may be purchased for an additional fee, which can be discussed privately.Giving credit is optional, as long as my signature or watermark is visible.

Other

Although I may refuse some request forms that I find uncomfortable, I do not judge my clients for their request nor restrict anyone from making another request form in the future, nor do I make any request public. Your privacy is your own and I will keep it that way.Although I do appreciate the compliments for my work, please keep in mind I try to keep things professional. I do not offer friendships through my commissions nor is my work to be used as a channel to gain friendship with me. I do have a private life full of friends that I am already close to.Your feedback is appreciated! Regular and timely contact is key for me to being motivated and effective. Please be sure to correspond to my messages and emails promptly regarding payments, corrections, and other inquiries regarding your commission.Thank you for reading my terms!

3D Model Terms

These terms are specific to my 3D models for VRChat avatars. Please be sure you read the standard terms first.
(updated 3/23/2024)

General (3D Model)

The models I create are custom made for the client's private use and is NOT permitted to be sold on any marketplace without my written permission. I do NOT offer any services to alter or modify models made by other artists or models ripped from video games. Models are delivered to the client as a Blender file, as it is free and accessible to nearly everyone. You as the client are expected to have basic knowledge of VRChat, as well as the means to download and install the VRChat Creator Companion and the supported version of Unity Editor that is required by VRChat. Please refer to the VRChat website for more information, tutorials and documentation that pertains to uploading VRChat avatars. You may NOT ask me to log into your VRChat account to upload your avatar for you.

Payment (3D Model)

Due to the high price of VRChat models, payments by installments are accepted, but the first installment requires a $500 down payment. After which, each payment can be any amount. The finished avatar cannot be delivered until paid in full. Avatars paid in full are given priority on my queue according to who paid off theirs first.

Pipeline & Corrections (3D Model)

3D models require a lot of work and a lot of time to make. Models can take months and even a whole year to create. So patience is required. This process is called the pipeline. You are entitled to progress images during the entirety of the pipeline, but correction fees do increase exponentially the further down the pipeline your model is at.Correction Fees:
Blocking - Free
Retopology - $50
UV & Texturing - $100
Rigging - $150
Expression Menu Changes - $50
Debugging - Free (easily happens often due to user error or Unity stupid)

Outfit Policy

My price policy regarding clothing and accessories is to include them as part of the base price as it pertains to your character's identity. If your character wears a default outfit or has an accessory that is considered non-optional and is part of the character's identity, the outfit and/or articles are included at no extra cost, if the outfit is reasonable. All other situational, seasonal, highly complex or optional articles are considered extra and will incur additional fees. Please ensure you understand and make clear the distinction between the two when asking for outfits on the request form and to make sure your references indicate them clearly.

Optimization

Regarding clothing and VRChat's ratings for avatar performance and optimizations, each piece of clothing that includes rig deformation and weight painting are called skinned meshes. Each skinned mesh can be treated like a layer that can be hidden or toggled independently. But the more skinned meshes you add on, the poorer the performance rating your avatar will get. Be mindful to minimize the amount of individual clothing toggles you want, and instead include multiple articles or whole outfits as one skinned mesh to improve your avatar's rating. You may wish to disregard this, but it will mean some people may chose to hide your avatar to save their PC performance.Other optimizations to consider is to refrain from or use in low quantities:
-Light Sources (emissions are okay)
-Hi-res Texture Files
-Multiple Texture File Count
-Multiple PhysBone Count
-Particle Effects
-Large avatar height and size

Extras

VRChat avatars can feature many options, effects and animations using expression menus and animation controllers. My services does include mouth visemes, up to 6 facial expressions and rig bones that can have interactive VRChat PhysBone components added to them such as for the tail, ears, belly or nose. Some effects and interactions do require very complex work, especially when dealing with multiple toggles and facial gestures, and can incur extra fees based on complexity. The most costly are rig bone animations that do not use PhysBones, such as a loop for a tail wag, ear twitch, or other fixed/controlled animations. But I will not do full-body animations such as dances or other complex things. You can search for prefab or ripped Unity animations that can be applied to your avatar on your own. There are also other things I have limited knowledge of, so I may not be able to do them. However, when you have the finished avatar project you are free to make your own modifications as it pertains to your personal use.If ever your files become corrupt or lost, reach out to me and I can send you a backup. But any changes you made will be lost. Be sure to keep your own backups of your avatar projects regularly after each change.

Please note: VTubers I do not consider subject to for-profit use and I still consider them personal/non-commercial, even if your channel collects ad-revenue, so long as it is only used as a personal avatar to represent yourself on stream, both live and on-demand. However, if you plan to publish, print, modify, or sell my VTuber work as a digital or physical good for merchandise or profit, you first must pay an additional fee.

Rigged Model

  • Starting at: $1500 USD Blender Project

  • Completed Unity Package: +$500 USD

Addons

  • Substance Painter Project: $500 USD

  • Accessory: $100 USD ea. 1 Piece (no rig)

  • Clothing: $200 USD ea. 1 Piece (rigged)

  • Outfit: $500 USD ea. 3 Pieces (rigged)

  • Extra Expression Menus: $100 USD ea.

  • VTuber Conversion: $200 USD

  • ARKit Support: $500 USD

Starting price includes Blender project and base textures. Model will come rigged and weight painted along with the desired bones needed for VRChat PhysBones (tail, ears, nose, belly) and desired shape keys (visemes, expressions, body morphs.) Starting price intended for people who are experienced with Unity and want to configure their avatar themselves.

Completed Unity Project is the popular choice. This requires very little work having to use Unity and allows you to upload a fully-prepared avatar in just a few steps. Includes basic clothing toggles if your model has them and facial gestures that toggle with your hand gestures.

Substance Painter Project file allows you to recolor and make edits to your models's texture. Perfect for adding AudioLink effects to your avatar for VRChat worlds that support it. This option requires that you have a license from Adobe and are already familiar with using the software. Be sure to indicate what version you currently have on the request form.

Accessories and Clothing are actually non-skinned and skinned mesh, no-rig and rigged. No-rig articles are solid objects, have no weight paint data and do not deform, but can be parented to a bone. Things like sunglasses or a top hat. Rigged articles, on the other hand, are things that require deformation and weight paint data like shirts and pants. Basically anything that contours with the body that needs to squash and stretch with your character, even items that have their own PhysBones require some weight painting.

VTuber conversions are made in VRM format. I don't have too much experience in this area, as I only played around with VSeeFace. But I suggest you have a good deal of familiarity with these programs.

ARKit Support is also something I have little knowledge of, aside from the fact that it requires 52 blend shapes. Tedious, but I can make each of those for you on your model. The rest is up to you. Have fun with that. :P
